“What would Emmett Till say? Healing over Justice” This is the brilliance of 55TillNow and the start of something so much larger than a film! I am honored to be a part of such a needed, timely, and revolutionary social movement. It starts with a story and the story is one of violence, racism, injustice and murder but also one of forgiveness and healing. I look forward to sharing the development process with you as we continue on this powerful journey but for now ask yourself….What would Emmett Till say? A young black man from Chicago visiting family in Mississippi in August of 1955 who was brutally murdered, thrown over a bridge and thought dead and gone forever. But the young man who floated defied the odds to be remembered as one of the greatest tipping points in Civil Rights history. What would he say about a nation still divided by injustice and inequality? Would he cry for justice or would he ask for healing? What would you say?
